Position DetailsBluewave is looking to add permanent, full-time team members as part of the Tower Technician I apprentice program. This position will participate in the build and maintenance of wireless equipment and structures as a member of a team. Thrill-seekers who excel at climbing 200+ feet into the air on telecommunications antennas and conducting professional work while at the top encouraged to apply.
Bluewave highly values transferable skills from military experience (radioman, comm techs, field radio personnel), linemen, electricians, erectors, etc.
- Supports the build and maintenance of cell towers, small cells, and other wireless equipment and structures as a 2-4 person team.
- Completes the work assigned by the team foreman while ensuring safety, quality, timeliness, and financial expectations are met.
- Partakes and passes all necessary certifications, licensing, and trainings provided by Bluewave and is trade partners.
- On site responsibilities and training will include:
- Grounding installation of antennas
- Antenna mounts, microwaves, coax lines, TMA's, RF Jumpers, remote electrical down-tilts / Bias-T's, Remote radio heads
- Fiber / DC Hybrid cables
- Sweep and PIM testing.
- Site audits and maintenance tasks
- Troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance
- Support for ensuring safe work conditions and adhering to Bluewave safety protocols.
- Complete work in a timely and efficient manner by planning, prioritizing, and coordination with supervisors
- Must be able to work overtime to include Saturdays, Sundays, and evening hours.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete all aspects of BCI's Tower training classes.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience- High School or GED required.
- Thrill-seeker who excels at climbing 200+ feet into the air on telecommunication antennas and conducting professional work while at top
- Excellent safety record
- Transferable skills from military experience, construction, linesman, tree-trimming, electrician, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Valid Drivers License required.
- OSHA 10 not required but preferred
- Not required but preferred: (BCI will train as required)
- NWSA- TTTI
- Gin Pole Certified
- Competent Climber / Rigging o RF Awareness
- Fall protection / Rescue.
