We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Installation Mechanic to lead new equipment setups, retrofits, and system replacements across NYC. This role is strictly focused on high-quality mechanical assembly, structural integration, and system commissioning. You will work across diverse environments, ensuring all new builds and upgrades strictly comply with NY OSHA requirements and NYC building codes

Core Responsibilities- Equipment Assembly & Rigging: Install, position, and secure commercial and high-end residential HVAC systems, including VRF systems, air handlers, split systems, and rooftop units.
- Piping & Fabrication: Run and fit fuel, refrigeration, and water supply lines. Perform clean brazing, soldering, and structural sheet metal alterations as required by system blueprints.
- Electrical Integration: Lay out, connect, and safely test low-voltage control wiring and primary power connections to all installed HVAC components.
- System Commissioning: Inspect, test, and balance newly installed equipment to verify airflow efficiency, refrigerant levels, and manufacturer specifications.
- Safety & Compliance: Execute all on-site work according to standard NYC building codes, EPA regulations, and strict OSHA safety protocols.
- Team Guidance: Supervise, direct, and pass on trade knowledge to assigned Junior Mechanics and Helpers on major installation sites.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of documented experience specializing in HVAC installation or mechanical system replacement.
- Certifications: Valid EPA Section 608 Universal Certification is strictly required. An OSHA 40 card is highly preferred.
- Technical Literacy: Proven ability to accurately read and execute instructions from mechanical blueprints, construction submittals, and complex wiring schematics.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to navigate NYC worksites, including climbing ladders for roof access, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50–70 lbs regularly without assistance.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record for operating the company vehicle.
