Maintenance Mechanic – East Aurora Union Free School District

Position Summary:

The maintenance mechanic performs skilled maintenance work in building or service trades, maintaining and repairing buildings, equipment and facilities, and may perform related tasks as required.

• Perform skilled work across plumbing, heating, electrical and general maintenance trades.
• Plan work, estimate materials and supplies, read blueprints and specifications.
• Operate and maintain power equipment, hand tools, and testing equipment.
• Repair equipment such as trucks, tractors, lawn mowers, and other machinery.
• Clean, paint, and finish walls, woodwork, and floors.
• Assist with occasional cleaning duties and any task assigned by supervisor.
• Supervise and train lower-level maintenance workers and laborers if required.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

• Regular daily attendance and ability to walk and carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Physical strength to lift, move, and carry heavy items.
• Good vision to meet safety standards.
• Analytical capability to evaluate problems and devise solutions.
• Social skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be ambulatory and capable of operating all related power equipment.

12‑month full‑time contract.

Start date:

Immediately. Pay: current contract rate $21.00/hr, with overtime at $25.00/hr full EASCPA Union Benefits include health insurance, paid holidays, sick time, and New York State pension.
