The Sprinkler Mechanic is responsible for the installation, modification, and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work safely and efficiently on job sites.
Job Duties- Install, modify, and repair fire sprinkler systems in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, and assemble pipe using hand and power tools
- Hang and secure piping systems, including supports and seismic bracing
- Perform system testing, inspections, and troubleshooting
- Coordinate work with other trades and contractors on site
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Complete required documentation, reports, and timekeeping accurately
- Participate in on-call or after-hours emergency service as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of sprinkler fitter apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of applicable fire codes (e.g., NFPA 13, NFPA 25)
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with pipe fitting tools and equipment
- Valid driver's license
- Pay is hourly and is negotiable dependent on candidate experience
