Telecoms Engineering, Installation Technician
Our client is a trusted IT infrastructure and managed services provider serving enterprise customers worldwide. Based out of New York City, they are looking to hire a Structured cabling Project Manager on a Contract to hire basis.
Contract Duration: 1 Year Contract (Potential for extension or conversion)
Required Skills & Experience- 10+ years of structured cabling engineering/design experience.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI.
- Strong understanding of pathways & spaces, telecom room standards, copper/fiber systems, and construction documentation, administration practices.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with Mechanical and Electrical teams (power, HVAC impacts, penetrations, constructability).
- Hands-on exposure to RF system design/implementation support in new, existing, retrofit spaces.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- BICSI RCDD (highly preferred).
- Experience with CAD/BIM workflows (e.g., AutoCAD and/or Revit).
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Office Suite (word, excel, Visio, PowerPoint, project).
- Experience supporting renovations/restacks and working in active office environments.
- Drive structured cabling designs (copper/fiber) including pathways/spaces, telecom room (TMER/TR) layouts, rack elevations, labeling, grounding/bonding, and testing requirements.
- Drive M/E coordination for structured cabling to ensure cabling/RF solutions are constructible and compliant (power needs, space/clearances, cooling/heat load awareness, penetrations/fire stopping, and routing constraints).
- Review deliverables: submittals, RFIs, redlines/as-builts; support installation sequencing, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
- Provide oversight on RF system designs: assist with requirements, antenna layout intent, head-end/telecom room integration, and coordination with DAS vendors/carriers as needed.
