  • The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $20.75 - $42.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

About the Role

A growing food manufacturing operation is seeking Maintenance Specialists to support its facilities and production equipment during a significant facility expansion. Maintenance Specialists will work independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot equipment, perform preventative maintenance, respond to unplanned downtime, and support both existing machinery and newer automated, software-driven equipment being added as the facility expands. The ideal candidate brings a strong industrial maintenance background with experience across electrical, mechanical, PLCs, HVAC, plumbing, welding, or related trades.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on production equipment as designated by facilities leadership and ensure proper completion and sign-off of work orders.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial production equipment and facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, PLC-controlled, HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.
  • Utilize the work order system to respond to unscheduled maintenance needs and follow up with appropriate stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and part diagrams to effectively diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Conduct inventory of assigned equipment spare parts and compile parts orders for review by facilities leadership as necessary.
  • Provide updates on ongoing repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility projects during weekly maintenance meetings.
  • Identify and implement best practices for maintaining equipment throughout the facility while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
  • Continually develop technical knowledge through collaboration with colleagues, outside service technicians, equipment manufacturers, and available training opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one skilled trade with hands‑on experience across multiple areas such as electrical, mechanical, PLCs, HVAC, plumbing, or welding.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and work comfortably with automated, computerized, and electronically controlled production equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, manuals, and part diagrams; computer literacy and comfort utilizing work order systems required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, physically demanding production environment while maintaining strong safety, quality, and GMP standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, repeatedly bend and twist, and safely push, pull, move, and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to follow all required GMP, PPE, uniform, safety, hygiene, and employee conduct standards and work weekends and holidays as business needs require.
Preferred
  • Experience maintaining automated food, beverage, bakery, pharmaceutical, or other sanitary manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled machinery, electrical troubleshooting, and sophisticated automated production equipment.
  • Experience with food manufacturing sanitation, washdown, GMP, or similar regulated production environments.
  • Multi‑craft experience across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and welding.
