Heavy Duty Diesel & Hydraulic Mechanic
Location: Allegany, NY
Pay: $23.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time
I&S of NYS Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel & Hydraulic Mechanic to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and maintain heavy diesel-powered and hydraulic equipment. This position is primarily shop-based in Allegany, NY, with occasional field service assignments.
We are looking for a skilled mechanic who can troubleshoot independently and perform high-quality repairs on complex equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, powertrains, and mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and rebuild hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, motors, and hose assemblies
- Perform preventative maintenance and major component overhauls
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
- Complete welding and light fabrication as needed
- Maintain accurate service records and follow OSHA safety standards
Equipment includes drilling rigs, telehandlers, mud pumps, power swivel units, heavy trucks, trailers, and related hydraulic-driven machinery.
Qualifications- Minimum 3 years of diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience
- Strong hydraulic troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid Driver's License
Regular lifting up to 50 lbs, frequent bending and kneeling, and ability to work around heavy equipment in shop and outdoor environments.
