At Red’s Appliance , our delivery and installation team is one of the most important parts of the customer experience. You’re not just dropping off appliances - you're the final step in the sale, the face of the company in the customer’s home, and a major reason customers trust us and refer to us.

This role is ideal for someone who likes physical work, doesn’t want to sit behind a desk, takes pride in doing clean installs, and can handle customers professionally while moving quickly through a busy delivery schedule.

We currently deliver 6 days a week , and this role is built for someone who can start early, work efficiently, and be part of a team that keeps the operation moving.

Position Overview

As a Delivery & Installation Technician , you’ll deliver, install, set up, and remove major household appliances in customers’ homes, apartment buildings, and job sites across Long Island. This includes everything from safely loading the truck in the morning to making sure the appliance is placed properly, leveled, and installed correctly when required.

This is a hands-on, physically active role with early morning starts and a fast pace. If you like being on the move, working with a partner or team, and seeing a clear result at the end of the day, this can be a great fit.

Pay & Schedule

Pay range: $150.00 - $175.00 - Helper $180.00 - $200.00 Driver per day ++ Plus Tips , based on experience

Typical start time: 6:00 AM

Typical finish time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Typically based around a 5-day work schedule

Part-time positions also available

Saturday availability is a major plus and may be required depending on scheduling and workload

What You’ll Do

A typical day may include:

Loading delivery trucks safely and efficiently before routes begin

Reviewing the day’s route, paperwork, and customer instructions

Delivering appliances to homes, apartments, businesses, and job sites

Bringing appliances into the home safely without damaging walls, floors, doors, or the product

Installing appliances when required, including proper placement, leveling, hookups, and basic setup

Removing old appliances when part of the delivery service

Communicating professionally with customers about access, installation requirements, and completion of the job

Working with dispatch, sales, and service teams if a delivery issue comes up in the field

Keeping the truck clean, organized, and stocked with basic install supplies

Taking care of company equipment including dollies, straps, tools, and protective materials

Collecting signatures, photos, or delivery confirmations when needed

Representing Red’s professionally at every stop

Types of Deliveries & Installations

This role may involve delivering and/or installing:

Gas and electric ranges

Washers and dryers

Stackable laundry units and laundry centers

Dishwashers

Scratch & dent and refurbished appliances

Bulk deliveries to apartment buildings, landlords, or job sites when needed

Key Responsibilities

Delivery

Safely load and unload appliances

Secure appliances in the truck to prevent damage in transit

Navigate homes, stairs, basements, apartment buildings, and tight delivery spaces

Protect the customer’s home during delivery using pads, runners, and proper handling techniques

Confirm delivered items match the invoice and customer order

Set appliances in place correctly and safely

Level units and make sure they are positioned properly

Perform standard installation tasks based on company policy and job scope

Test appliance functions when appropriate after installation

Identify when an installation cannot be completed safely or properly and report it immediately

Customer Service

Greet customers professionally and communicate clearly

Explain what is being delivered and installed

Set expectations if there is an issue with access, parts, hookups, or the condition of the existing setup

Leave the customer with confidence that the job was completed correctly

Team / Operations

Work closely with your delivery partner, dispatcher, warehouse, and sales team

Report product damage, missing parts, access issues, or customer concerns right away
