Diesel Shop Mechanic

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to support our Transportation & Logistics fleet within the Automotive department. In this on-site role, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, drive trains, electrical, brake, and hydraulic systems on commercial trucks and trailers. You'll perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections, accurately document work, and collaborate with a supportive team focused on safety, innovation, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and drive trains on Ryder fleet vehicles
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and DOT-compliant repairs
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and brake systems using diagnostic tools and manuals
• Document all work performed, parts used, and repair recommendations in maintenance systems
• Collaborate with drivers, service writers, and team members to prioritize repair needs and minimize downtime
• Adhere to Ryder, OEM, and OSHA safety standards while maintaining a clean, organized work area
