Royal Waste Services, a Waste Connections Company, is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to support repairs and preventative maintenance on forklifts, small loaders, and other equipment used in our recycling facility. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technician with solid mechanical skills who can keep equipment safe, reliable, and operational in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventative maintenance (lubrication, filters, adjustments, inspections).
- Repair and maintain:
- Forklifts
- Small pay loaders
- Skid steers
- Other facility equipment
- Assist with basic hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company, OSHA, and equipment‑specific safety procedures.
- Perform proper lockout/tagout during repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately.
- Track parts usage and communication needs to the Maintenance Manager
- Report recurring issues or equipment concerns promptly
Shop & Field Support
- Assist with equipment inspections and readiness checks.
- Support operations by ensuring equipment is available and functioning
- Coordinate with vendors for parts or specialized repairs when needed
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in equipment or facility maintenance (industrial, warehouse, or waste industry preferred).
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Ability to read simple schematics or equipment manuals
- Ability to perform repairs with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
