Preseason training includes approximately 5–15 hours per week of virtual and field training. In-season work is weather-dependent, with no traditional weekly schedule—we work when it snows and often for several days following a storm. Hours vary based on storm activity, operational needs, and availability, with shifts of up to 16 hours per day and overtime as needed.

At JMC, our work goes beyond clearing snow—we remove dangerous snow and ice buildup from the tops of tractor-trailers before those trailers return to the road, using ladders, snow shovels, and specialized safety equipment to help reduce the risk of snow and ice coming off moving trailers and creating hazards for other motorists.

As a Field Trainer, you’ll be part of a mobile team that travels throughout JMC’s service area based on where winter weather creates the need. You’ll drive a company service vehicle as you travel between training and service locations and train, coach, and support technicians in the field. You’ll teach JMC’s snow and ice removal processes, safety procedures, service standards, equipment use, documentation requirements, and day‑to‑day field expectations.

This is a hands‑on training role. Working with teams typically consisting of 1–3 technicians, you’ll perform the same snow and ice removal work as the technicians you train. Team members rotate responsibilities throughout each service, including accessing trailer tops, removing accumulated snow and ice, assisting teammates from the ground, preparing and handling equipment, and helping maintain a safe and efficient work area.

As a Field Trainer, you’ll demonstrate JMC’s standards through your own performance while working alongside the team.

You’ll observe technician performance, provide clear and constructive coaching, reinforce JMC’s safety and service expectations, and help technicians develop the skills and confidence needed to successfully perform their roles.
