Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting with operations, maintenance services, and equipment repairs as assigned. He/she is also responsible for participating in the preventative maintenance program and handling guest requests and other work orders as assigned. He/she is also responsible for performing the job safely and efficiently, including trade work such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
• Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with operation, maintenance, and equipment repair.
• Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, including vinyl repair, touch-up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC in guestrooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool, and the hot tub.
• Perform plumbing repairs, laundry equipment maintenance, and preventive maintenance on all exhaust fans and supplies; monitor energy conservation; and repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment as needed.
• Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine their exact location and cause. Determine the emergency status and report your findings to the Front Desk.
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Compensation:

* For applicants working in NYC, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $20.00 per hour. The hourly rate offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to years of experience in the job, years of experience in the required industry, education, etc.
