Journeyman Electrician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The role requires expertise in rough-in work and the ability to read and interpret rough-in prints. The ideal candidate will be proficient in installing conduit, switch gear, and performing terminations, as well as running BX and MC cable.

• Perform rough-in work and interpret rough-in prints.
• Install conduit and switch gear.
• Run BX and MC cable, and execute roughing tasks.
• Troubleshoot and wire panels.
• Bend conduit and perform pipe bending.
• Execute electrical deck work and work with electrical raceways.
• Perform riser work, including electric and conduit risers.
• Set up Kindorf racks and perform service work.
• Pull service wire and install outlets, switches, and devices.
• Splice cables and install boxes and panels.

• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and pipe bending.
• Experience with electrical deck work and high-rise deck work.
• Competency in installing and troubleshooting smurf tube and electrical raceways.
• Ability to perform riser work and conduit risers.
• Familiarity with Kindorf racks and service work.
• Skill in pulling MC and BX cable, and performing terminations.
• Experience in installing outlets, switches, and devices.

• SST 10-hour certification.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Lift certification.
• Over 8 years of commercial electrical experience.

Projects begin at 7:00 am, and candidates must sign in and out daily with the foremen. All necessary PPE, tools, SST, and OSHA 30 certifications must be on hand at all times. Technical skills will be evaluated, particularly in pipe work, panel wiring, and three-way switch wiring. Foremen assess attitude, task completion speed, and confidence in independent work. A drug test is mandated for specific sites.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
