The Social Worker will assess the mental and emotional functioning of residents, provide direct treatment services, and administer clinical supervision to Case Managers. Duties include crisis intervention, developing individual living plans (ILPs), coordinating mental‑health referrals, and ensuring compliance with agency procedures.

Major Duties And Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate existing, new, and prospective clients/families referred by NYC Department of Homeless Services.
- Develop individual living plans (ILPs) for families, including all adults and children in the family composition and provide therapeutic support as needed.
- Provide clinical supervision to Case Managers.
- Conduct clinical case conferences with clients in collaboration with internal staff and external providers to address unmet needs and monitor progress.
- Participate in clinical caseload conferences, staff meetings, and trainings to enhance clinical skills.
- Perform crisis intervention, including on‑call duty via agency phone as needed.
- Coordinate mental‑health referrals and psychiatric care.
- Attend trainings and consortium meetings with DHS and other partners.
- Evaluate mental‑health status for residents on admission by completing comprehensive CFEs.
- Develop a resource network of social‑services providers.
- Facilitate group meetings and monitor resident records for compliance.
- Maintain independence in facility coverage and act appropriately in crisis situations per agency procedures.
- Engage in weekly individual and group supervision with the Social Work Supervisor.
- Assist with reports and program evaluation.
- Review progress notes and service plans, and monitor client compliance.
- Develop strategies for engaging individuals with trauma histories.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Social Work Supervisor.
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
- Three years of experience working with the homeless population.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with homeless families, including LGBTQ+ individuals, the elderly, and those with substance‑abuse and/or mental‑health issues.
- Familiarity with DHS regulations and DHS Cares reporting.
- Clinical experience with psychosocial assessments and the development and implementation of ILPs.
