What You’ll DoAs a valued member of our WIC team, you will:
- Provide one-on-one emotional support to mothers and their significant others
- Offer practical guidance on normal breastfeeding and what to expect
- Provide anticipatory support to help prevent common challenges
- Advocate for breastfeeding within the community
- Support families with cultural sensitivity and awareness
- Participate in WIC Breastfeeding Support Groups
Your lived experience and encouragement can make all the difference!
What We’re Looking For:- Must be a current or former WIC participant
- Must have breastfeeding experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 – 3 years of experience working with diverse populations
- Willingness to complete the Peer Counselor Training Program (we provide training)
- A collaborative, community-focused mindset
- Competitive pay: $18.50 – $19.50 per hour
- Flexible per diem schedule: 5–10 hours per week
