Position Overview

Part‑time Shift Supervisor (Part‑time, 14 hr per week). The person filling this position is expected, under general supervision, to ensure the smooth running of all facility operations and services on a day‑to‑day basis, so that client goals, targets, and performance outcomes are met on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients and uphold client confidentiality.
  • Practice Universal Precautions, Standard Protocols & Procedures.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy policies intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.
  • Input client data using DHS’ CARES database as required.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, peers, supervisors and funders.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance per NYS DHS, NYS OTDA, NYC FDNY, NYC Dept. of Health, NYC Coalition for the Homeless, etc. (log book entries, bed checks, client belongings, security, client care, medication, etc.).
  • Ensure security and residential aide and social service staff conduct new client orientation within 24 hrs of entry.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels to ensure safety and security of shift operations.
  • Remain on‑site to provide supervisory coverage at all times, including lunch breaks.
  • Maintain inventory of security equipment and secure valuables and medications in a safe or cabinet.
  • Retrieve, observe and document client self‑administration of medications, as appropriate.
  • Manage and coordinate day‑to‑day facility functions, ensuring programming, rounds and client care services are occurring.
  • Respond professionally to complaints, incidents and emergencies, interview all parties, collect data and report the situation.
  • Resolve individual conflicts and disputes between staff or clients respectfully and solution‑based.
  • Lead and participate in program meetings as requested.
  • Engage clients to address issues that arise on the shift, and document and communicate via written logs, face‑to‑face meetings, etc., to ensure staff are aware.
  • Monitor client safety and ensure safety policies and procedures are practiced daily.
  • Overcome resistance to change from clients.
  • Provide required information for shift reports to CAMBA management and/or funders.
  • If adequate staffing is absent, assume direct service/program responsibility in addition to the above.
  • Enforce and adhere to the Good Neighbor Policy and respond to community concerns when appropriate.
  • Develop content for client programming to maximize contract goals and performance targets.
  • Conduct initial intake and initial or periodic assessments of clients.
  • Prepare marketing materials and market the program to the community to obtain resources for clients.
  • Task may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over a period of time.
Education, Licenses and/or Certifications Required
  • HS Diploma or GED and 3 years applicable experience, or
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) and 2 years applicable experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.W.) and equivalent experience.
Pre- and Post-Employment Requirements
  • Require TB results prior to start date.
  • Attestation for State Central Child Abuse Registry.
  • Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification.
