The Career Readiness Associate will provide critical support to the Career Services team by coaching Corps Members through career readiness, professional development, and common workplace barriers. This role helps ensure Members receive the guidance and feedback they need to succeed during their Service term, clarify their career pathways, meet graduation requirements, and transition confidently into alumni status.
This position reports directly to the Career Services Manager, who will provide weekly supervision, daily oversight, approve personnel requests, support on managing and prioritizing workflow, and oversee the distribution of time and resources across divisions.
Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities- Support a caseload of 25-30 corps members with targeted resumes, interview prep, and job applications
- Review and analyze corps member career services IDP goals, provide direct coaching and feedback to reinforce actions needed to meet goals and professional expectations
- Conducts corps member follow-up on goals and professional development benchmarks
- Provides support to the Career Services Manager on ensuring that corps member in transition into alumni-hood having met job readiness goals and standards
- Provide resources for job readiness, employment and educational needs of corps members
- Maintain progress notes on all contacts with Corps Members in case files; collect and complete all necessary documentation and reports related to program activities
- Attend professional development days to support corps members with identifying connections to individual goals and networking opportunities
- Work in close coordination with other program team members to meet graduation, placement and retention targets, and to ensure a seamless, positive experience for each corps member
The Career Readiness Associate position is a temporary (Mar - Sep 2026), part-time (15 - 20 hours per week) position. This position is a hybrid, field-based in all 5 boroughs (will require travel to different locations/sites across the five boroughs), office, and WFH, and you and your supervisor will agree on your standard hours for the week.

- 1-2 years demonstrated experience coaching and supporting young people in overcoming personal barriers and career readiness.
- Previous demonstrated effective leadership role with young adults ages 18 – 24 from public housing or other low-income communities
- High level of professionalism, integrity, work ethic, accountability, and responsibility
- Highly organized self-starter; ability to take direction, structure tasks, establish priorities, and set goals
- Ability to solve problems, mediate conflicts and exercise sound judgment
- Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and motivational skills, excellent collaborative and teamwork skills
- Enthusiasm for, and personal commitment to, healthy sustainable living choices.
- Direct experience living and/or working in public housing communities.
Green City Force’s Ameri Corps program prepares young adults aged 18-24 who reside in the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) or low-income housing in NYC and have a high school diploma or equivalency for careers through green service.
