At Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City, we believe every young person deserves a champion in their corner. Our mission is to build and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the biggest possible futures for NYC youth, and that starts with committed, caring volunteers.
As a Big, you’ll be matched with a Little and provide consistent guidance, encouragement, and exposure to new experiences. Whether you’re exploring the city together, talking through school challenges, or simply showing up reliably, your presence can make a lasting difference.
Mentorship is not about being perfect. It’s about being present.
If you're ready to invest your time and heart into supporting a young person’s growth, we invite you to learn more about our commitment and application process below. Sign up to become a Big here. There is open enrollment all year. If you have questions, please email outreach for more information.
