Job Shift: Day

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with clients towards vocational and educational readiness through one‑on‑one and small group skill‑building sessions on interviewing skills, resume writing, and grant and FASFA application support.
  • Assist clients with developing resumes and submitting applications for education (GED, college degrees, etc.) and vocational training/referral linkage (Workforce 1, Access‑VR, etc.).
  • Support clients in job searches, including online applications and referrals.
  • Follow clients through the educational/vocational continuum and collaborate with case management to develop individualized job‑retention plans targeting barriers such as coping skills, time management, stress management, and childcare planning.
  • Maintain charting and documentation in accordance with agency and funder compliance standards.
  • Provide support to the vocational counselor in departmental initiatives such as monthly self‑sufficiency meetings, coordination with community partners and resources, skill‑building workshops, client stipends, and program engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with case management and participate in daily huddles and team meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet program and client needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a pertinent field with experience in vocational or education training.
  • Preferred experience working with a homeless population.
  • Required experience counseling groups and individuals.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to establish workload priorities and manage diverse projects.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, particularly in addressing complex and sensitive issues or regulations.
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions.
