GENERAL

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning and organizing the operations, services, staff, and activities of the assigned on-site recreation area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts workshops with clients including arts and crafts, team building exercises, general exercises, and reading groups.
  • Oversees the development of diversified recreation programs and services for all ages in accordance with the community's needs.
  • Participates in Community Outreach
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, recommends changes, and implements
  • Oversees the activities of staff and volunteers; plans, assigns, trains, and monitors staff duties.
  • Performs administrative tasks, such as attending and scheduling meetings, and preparing reports.
  • Performs routine facility maintenance such as setting up tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provides communication and written documentation regarding all recreation program areas and facility activities
  • Monitors inventory and orders supplies
  • Coordinates all staff parties, meetings, and events which include decorating and cleaning up
  • Assists Social Services in client's cases as needed.
  • In the event of an emergency, Essential Employees are required to report to work as scheduled
  • Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based upon the assessment of company needs.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of experience in Social Services is preferred.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with the facility staff and client population.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing)
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish plus
