Position Overview:

The Community Outreach Coordinator works closely with teens and young adults to connect them with resources and opportunities that support their overall well-being and future success. Responsibilities include conducting outreach, building relationships with community partners, and providing guidance around housing stability, educational achievement, and employment readiness. The coordinator assists youth in accessing safe housing options, enrolling in school or vocational programs, developing job skills, and securing employment opportunities.

This role also advocates for youth needs, facilitates workshops and community events, and collaborates with service providers to ensure participants receive comprehensive support to achieve their personal, academic, and career goals.

Position

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree and at least two years working with youth in a residential or foster care environment and/or youth who have a criminal justice background. Experience and a demonstrated knowledge of adolescent and child development as well as barriers/limitations that may impact a young adult’s trajectory into the workforce or their ability to maintain stable housing. Candidate should have experience with group work, family work, and a commitment to working with runaway homeless youth/young adults as well as pregnant and parenting residents.

Ability to work with culturally diversified individuals. Ability to conduct training and on‑going workshops; ability to plan events. Must be a strong communicator and have the ability to motivate others. Must be able to work as a team member. Must have knowledge of community resources and skills to link residents with appropriate agencies and services. Ability to establish professional boundaries and engage in professional behaviors that emulate a high level of ethics and objective/non‑judgmental approaches.
