Brooklyn Community Services is one of Brooklyn’s first and largest non‑sectarian social services agencies. Serving more than 20,000 individuals annually, BCS is committed to a broad and diverse range of services, including prevention of foster care placement; crisis intervention; early childhood and after‑school education; and vocational training, job placement, and clinical services to adults with physical and developmental disabilities, and histories of mental illness.
The NeON Probation Program focuses on 16-24‑year‑olds who have active involvement within the Justice System. Neon Works provides an array of services designed to help participants reach a higher level of work readiness / employability and reduce the likelihood of participation in violent activity. Neon also offers career awareness services, connection to educational opportunities, assistance with job search competencies, and case management;
however, Neon provides emphasis on education, training, and the ability to earn credentials in growing and/or stable occupational fields.
Hours: Full-time Monday - Friday 9 am-5 pm
Salary Range: 40,
Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of approximately 17 clients
- Documenting activity, including outreach, consent forms, client progress, and transition plans
- Intake and ongoing assessment
- Develop an individualized service plan (ISP), goal setting, and addressing obstacles to job readiness with each client
- Advocacy and referral to identified needs and services
- Convening meetings to review client progress
- Assisting clients to acquire/maintain employment, job readiness, and education opportunity
- Participate in program and agency-wide groups, trainings and meetings as required
- Assist with the development of funding proposals as needed
Other tasks as required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) or a closely related human services field
- Experience supporting families within child welfare, behavioral health, healthcare, or social services environments
- Ability to work and effectively contribute in a multidisciplinary team settings
- Good written and verbal communication skills for documentation and advocacy
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively across diverse cultural, ethnic, and racial communities
- Committed to providing high‑quality, person‑centered services with a focus on individual empowerment
- Highly organized and self‑directed; able to manage a caseload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus
