Full-Time Criminal Court Researcher (Suffolk County, NY)

We are seeking a Full-Time Criminal Court Researcher in New York (Suffolk County). Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, hold a valid driver’s license, and reside within a 30‑minute commute of the Suffolk County Courthouse.

• Travel to assigned courthouses to research and review criminal and/or civil public record information via onsite electronic access court systems.
• Perform additional research as required from applicable websites.
• Interpret court records and related information from courts and state agencies, accurately documenting and modifying results.
• Communicate directly with courts and state agencies to pursue additional information and ensure compliance.
• Provide accurate and detailed results and case information to the CRRG either through database integration or email.
• Conduct criminal background checks using various electronic public access systems at criminal court houses.
• Verify information for criminal records and forward results by scanning and uploading search results.
• Investigate and provide updates on new or improved methods of performing criminal background checks.

• High school diploma or equivalent; high‑level administrative, legal court research experience preferred.
• Ability to read legal documentation, strong organizational and research skills, and keen detail orientation.
• Work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, prioritize and structure daily tasks.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Capable of working independently while receptive to direction.
• Reliable home Wi‑Fi access and a personal document shredder.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel daily to the courthouse.

Salary:
Approximately $18–19 USD per hour.

Location:

Suffolk County Courthouse (Riverhead, NY). Temporary gas stipend of $200 per jurisdiction monthly. Transportation will be coordinated; required equipment (laptop, printer/scanner/fax) and a personal cell phone reimbursement will be provided.
