Salary: $17.78 - $26.68 per hour
Position OverviewAs a Recovery Support Specialist at Phoenix House, you will participate and facilitate shift changes, provide Criss intervention counseling, conduct group intake, and ensure clients adhere to the day‑to‑day program schedule. You will track attendance, monitor participation in program events, and manage program activities to support client recovery.
Responsibilities- Ensure patients adhere to the day‑to‑day program schedule and track attendance.
- Monitor participation in program events and activities.
- Conduct and document room/bed checks (at least every thirty minutes) to ensure resident safety and presence.
- Perform routine facility checks to ensure safety and security.
- Review client property/items upon admission or receipt to ensure compliance with facility and program rules.
- Conduct contraband searches and administer drug screening analysis in accordance with policies.
- Assume lead duties for assigned shift(s), ensuring that the program schedule is followed and all duties are completed by the team.
- Mentor patients toward success, including behavior modification, program rules, school work, job responsibilities, and appropriate social interactions with peers, family, and staff.
- Provide safe, timely, and supervised transportation of patients to off‑site appointments or activities as needed.
- Assist in the medication room, as required.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Certifications:
Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC‑T) in good standing. - Experience: Minimum two years in a substance use disorder treatment setting, including work with patients with co‑occurring disorders; trained to dispense medications to clients in case of emergency.

This role operates in an indoor office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Physical Demands- Regularly required to sit, use hands to type, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
