Job Details DescriptionSummary:
The Safe Horizon DV Shelter Program provides safe and confidential spaces for DV Survivors and their children. We are committed to providing these services with empathy, compassion, professionalism, non-judgement, and respect. Our spaces respect survivors' right to self-determination and focus on giving families and individuals the space, both emotional and physical, to heal from the victimization and trauma they have experienced.
Responsibilities:
The Case Manager provides both practical advocacy services and support to domestic violence survivors and their children in a residential setting. Duties may include some or all of the following:
- Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients.
- Provide ongoing safety assessment and risk management, crisis intervention, crisis counseling, emotional support and case management services of complex client cases
- Advocate on behalf of clients with both internal and external partners to increase client's access to benefits and resources; provide accompaniment as necessary and requested by clients
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case files, including funder reports
- Engaging residents in weekly individual case management sessions that focus on engagement, de-escalation, risk management and safety assessment;
- Participating in staff meetings, case conferences, supervision meetings, trainings and other meetings as required;
- Assisting in the daily operations of the work site to maintain adequate coverage, and a trauma informed/ healing environment;
Qualifications:
- High school equivalency or high school diploma plus relevant training and experience in human services or related field, including some prior experience working with victims of crime
