The Medical Division operates 24/7 with the primary responsibility of overseeing the health and well-being of all members of the service, including both physical and psychological. The main office is located at 59-17 Junction Blvd. Queens, however, NYPD also operates out of 4 satellite offices to monitor and evaluate uniformed members of service while sick or on restricted duty. The Behavioral Care & Support Section conducts fitness for duty evaluations as well as ensures members of service are receiving the appropriate behavioral health services they require.

The NYPD's Behavior Care & Support Section is seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of Department Psychologist Level I. Duties involve the following:

• Conducting fitness for duty evaluations of police personnel (uniformed and civilian), case management, trauma debriefings, military debriefings, crisis intervention, and screening for undercover assignments.
• Providing supportive services and psychoeducation for individuals at designated NYPD precincts and specialty units.
• Attending and participating in psychological and general staff conferences and training.

Monday-Friday. Additional information:
In compliance with Federal Law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. Selected candidates will have a comprehensive background investigation. Employees in the title of Psychologist who are employed by the NYPD will receive a $10,000 assignment differential annually, in addition to their base salary.
