Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week (typically 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; schedule may vary based on program needs)

Location:

Queens, NY (Hybrid; 70% Field/Office and 30% Remote)

The Position

Queens Community House (QCH) is seeking a passionate and community-focused Bilingual (Spanish) Family Worker to join the Queens Childcare Network (QCCN). QCCN supports nearly 100 licensed family-based childcare providers throughout Queens who participate in the NYC Public Schools Birth to 2 and 3-K programs.

The Family Worker plays a critical role in connecting families to high-quality early childhood education and support services. This position serves as a trusted advocate and resource for families, helping them navigate enrollment, access community resources, and address challenges related to education, healthcare, housing, benefits, legal matters, and other family needs.

About Queens Childcare Network (QCCN)

Queens Childcare Network is a division of Queens Community House that partners with family-based childcare providers throughout Queens. Providers within the network adhere to rigorous standards established by NYC Public Schools, the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), and the Department of Health (DOH) to ensure children receive safe, high-quality care and educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities Family Engagement & Enrollment
  • Support family recruitment, enrollment, registration, intake, and assessment processes.
  • Respond promptly to parent and family inquiries and provide ongoing support throughout enrollment.
  • Maintain required enrollment documentation and ensure compliance with NYCPS and DOH regulations.
  • Develop and implement family engagement activities and events.
Family Support & Advocacy
  • Create individualized family plans in collaboration with families and childcare providers.
  • Connect families to community resources and provide referrals for services including housing, healthcare, mental health, special education, benefits assistance, and other supports.
  • Advocate for families and assist them in navigating systems that impact family well-being.
  • Attend case conferences and follow-up meetings for children with special needs.
Community Partnerships & Collaboration
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and service providers.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to coordinate parent engagement initiatives.
  • Promote connections to additional Queens Community House programs and services.
Data Management & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate family records and database information.
  • Utilize spreadsheets, surveys, tracking reports, and other tools to monitor compliance and program outcomes.
  • Ensure all documentation meets program, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
Additional Duties
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by QCCN Leadership.
Qualifications Required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
  • Experience working with young children and at-risk families.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Teams.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Queens.
  • NYC DOE PETS Clearance (or ability to obtain clearance).
Preferred
  • Experience in early childhood education, family services, community-based programs, or case management.
  • Knowledge of community resources and social service systems in New York City.
