Bilingual Remedial Speech Teacher – Temporary
Position located:
Buffalo, New York 14202. Reporting to the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga.
- New York State certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled with bilingual extension.
- Must possess a PDF or screenshot of certifications.
- Preferred:
New York State licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence. - Knowledge of Medicaid Regulations, ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech‑Language Pathology, and Federal and State Regulations on Speech Pathology.
Duties include, but are not limited to, establishing an environment that enhances individual growth and promotes effective communication and speech‑language skills; facilitating ongoing services for students with disabilities; conducting speech‑language screenings and evaluations; collaborating with school personnel to accomplish IEP goals; planning, organizing, and delivering high‑quality speech‑language services; monitoring and evaluating student progress; maintaining records and reports; enforcing Board of Education policies, regulations, and rules;
maintaining school property and materials; and performing any assigned duties as deemed necessary.
The Board of Education will make the appointment following the Superintendent’s recommendation and after assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials, and service evaluation. Personal interviews will be scheduled where appropriate.
