Residential Advisors
We are looking for dedicated Residential Advisors to join our Glenmont Job Corps Center team. This role is vital in guiding young adults toward success in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Position SummaryResponsible for providing proper guidance to students to ensure positive group living relations and achievement in the Job Corps program.
Responsibilities- Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in dormitory living situations and to accomplish their goals.
- Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to a counselor.
- Assist in unit activities, including unit government.
- Patrol and monitor dormitories and the center as required, ensuring safety and proper behavior of students.
- Prepare daily operations reports, pass lists, and other administrative correspondence related to students.
- Direct students and assist in cleanup and maintenance of the dormitory.
- Recommend or requisition supplies to meet dorm living needs and student safety.
- Maintain dormitory and individual student files; ensure files are complete, updated, and contain all required documentation.
- Enter student case notes in the center information system.
- Participate in career development services by ensuring a safe living environment and modeling peer leadership.
- Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions and independent living skills to students.
- Work overtime when directed; regular and predictable attendance is required.
- Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff, and other center customers.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero‑Tolerance Policy.
- Promote development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, and monitoring positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (advanced degrees preferred).
- Minimum one year of Job Corps or related program experience.
- A valid in‑state driver’s license is preferred.
- Physical requirements include the ability to sit, stand, climb, walk, lift 40 pounds, and perform other related tasks.
