Job Title: Youth Care Worker

Program: Congregate Care

Salary: $20.00 hourly

General Responsibilities

The Youth Care Worker works as scheduled in the Group Home, providing supervision, support, and direction to residents that will foster positive growth and development. In addition, they maintain a hazard free, clean, and orderly household; prepare meals in accordance with house menus; complete all required logs, forms, and reports. Also, they participate in meetings as scheduled, accompany groups or individual children for recreation or appointments.

Skills
  • High School Diploma
  • Two years professional child care experience preferred
  • Ability to work assigned shifts. Requires flexibility and availability for emergency and required coverage of the home
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to policies and respond to supervision
  • Must demonstrate patience, and social experience in order to permit the formation of a professional relationship and adult role model with children and their families, including those with different religious, cultural, ethnic backgrounds and sexual preferences
  • Must have the knowledge and ability to help residents with school work
Desired Skills
  • Valid New York State driver's license
  • Demonstrates ability to mentor and positively influence youth by modeling prosocial behaviors
