Salary Range: $53,000.00 To $60,500.00 Annually

Job Summary

The Fathering Specialist/Peer Menor is focused on helping men become stronger fathers for their children and families. The Fathering Specialist/Peer Mentor supports fathers enrolled in the program by providing guidance, encouragement, and practical support. Drawing from lived experience, the Fathering Specialist/Peer Mentor helps participants build positive parenting skills, strengthen family relationships, and navigate personal challenges. The Fathering Specialist/Peer Mentor serves as a role model and advocate, promoting responsible fatherhood and healthy family engagement.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Comprehensive case management services including individual/group counseling and other services to non-custodial 18+ years of age fathers interested in being more involved in the life of their child or children
• Conduct Parenting classes and other group work
• Interview prospective fathers to assess needs and readiness for service
• Develop and implement a service plan
• Coordinate services with Life/Career Coach
• Provide face-to-face contact with clients at least twice a month
• Attend meetings and conferences with service providers and other related agencies and organizations involved with the consumer
• Provide crisis intervention to participants
• Document all activities and attempted activities related to planning and service provision for fathers
• Maintain and manage all record-keeping requirements as they relate to specific clients on caseload in a timely and accurate manner
• Participate in unit meetings, in-service training and other activities designed to enhance job performance
• Conduct client recruitment in the community and with other organizations
• Coordinate services with Fathering Specialist to ensure fathers have the support that they need to be successful parents and partners
• Participate in parenting, conflict resolution, anger management and healthy relationship groups and other program related group activities
• Assist in emergency situations
• Other duties as required by the supervisor or needs of the program/agency
• Bachelors from an accredited college or university
• Great organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• Energetic, self-directed and goals-focused approach to work with our non-custodial fathers
• Valid NYS Driver’s License preferred and must possess the ability to travel
• Candidate must be flexible; evenings and weekend hours may be required

Salary Range:

Bachelors (Bilingual)- $30.22/hr - $32.15/hr

Masters - $30.22/hr - $33.24/hr
