PURPOSE:

The OCFS Children Residence consist of 3 programs serving males, females and LGBTQ+ youth ages 16 to 21 who exhibits a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges stemming from acute and/or chronic traumatization. All the youth are referred by the Administration for Children's Services.

The Group Residence (Kaplan and Cedar Knoll House) provide supervised living units and programs of therapeutic and recreational services that emphasize family interaction and strengthening of community support networks, as well as increasing independent living skills. The goal for all youth is to transition them back to the community, to a family member, significant adult connection, achieve housing, higher education, etc.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Model (ITM) is effectively implemented in both group residences. Serving as an essential member of the Group Residence teams, the ITM Coordinator will oversee the preparation for group sessions and work alongside the C Clinical Director to ensure youth participation. Additionally, the ITM Coordinator will gather the necessary data to complete the biannual PIR.

KEY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Program development, documentation review, material design, and curriculum development are all major tasks related to ITM.
  • Oversees data tracking, collection, analysis, and reporting via the Program Implementation Review (PIR)
  • Trouble shoots implementation barriers, puts action steps in place to address barriers, and tracks progress toward goals
  • Participates in ongoing training and efforts that develop expertise in ITM(DBT) so they are able to be culture carriers of the ITM in their organization
  • Assists in day-to-day working of the ITM model – skills groups assistance, modeling, coaching skills reinforcement and teaching skills on the fly, across programs (OCFS Groups Residences)
  • Organizing groups in both programs.
  • Ensuring the group facilitators are ready for groups weekly but providing group supervisors to all the facilitators
  • Facilities groups as necessary, across programs.
  • Attend all ITM consultations and leadership meeting.
  • Carry a small clinical Case load at Cedar Knolls House
  • Engage in weekly therapy, with assigned clients.
  • Completed documentation timely, according to the Jewish Board policy.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING

REQUIRED:
  • LCSW, LMSW or a master's degree in social work. Behavioral Health or related field.
  • A minimum of two (2 experience in either child welfare, Juvenile justice, mental health, or other residential treatment setting)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:
  • Specialized experience with residential treatment may also be required.
  • Experience facilitating groups
  • Knowledge of the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM), preferred
  • Demonstrated evidence of excellent training skills
COMPUTER

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of electronic medical systems or CONNECTIONS preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Aptitude for learning new systems and application software
VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY:
  • Regularly required to physically operate routine office equipment such as telephones, computers, etc.
