The Resource Center has been providing services to persons with disabilities in the Chautauqua County area since 1958. From our humble beginnings as a gathering of parents and concerned citizens who wanted to provide educational and training opportunities for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities, The Resource Center has grown into a comprehensive agency providing services to thousands of persons with all types and levels of disabilities.
The Resource Center is the largest non-governmental employer in Chautauqua County with more than 1,300 employees on its payroll.

QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST – JOB DESCRIPTION
FUNCTION:
The primary function for the position is to coordinate and implement all aspects of TRC’s Incident Management program. This includes conducting thorough investigations within the agency that may impact the health and welfare of the agency’s vulnerable individuals or affect the agency’s level of risk. The position will also maintain knowledge of incident management and protective oversight regulations with the primary agency divisions, including OPWDD, OMH and DOH.
REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent organizational skills with a systemic orientation. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization. Flexibility to adapt to fast-paced and varied work assignments. Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of agency programs. Ability to develop curriculum and provide training to a diverse workforce.
Computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Supervisory and/or “people” skills helpful, including facilitation, mediation, listening, dialogue and inquiry. Physical condition or reasonable accommodation(s) commensurate with the demands of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human services or related field, plus two (2) years’ experience working in a program serving vulnerable populations. Associate’s Degree preferably in human services or related field, plus four (4) years’ experience working in a program serving vulnerable populations. High school diploma and five (5) years’ experience with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a program serving vulnerable populations, preferably at a responsible level — for example, Residence Manager, Assistant Residence Manager, LPN, etc.
College education or Investigator Certification may be substituted for experience, considering thirty (30) credit hours as equivalent to one (1) year experience. Valid driver’s license and vehicle available for work or equivalent accommodations required.
Prior experience in auditing, conducting investigations, incident management, QA/QI strongly preferred.
