EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 80,000 people through 120 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated full-time Employment Specialist to join our Bronx Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities (TASC) Enhanced Employment Initiative!
Responsibilities- Perform vocational assessments.
- Provide on-going counseling to develop vocational and educational plans based on education, employment background, expressed interest and career exploration activities.
- Provide job placement services to clients to meet outcome objectives.
- Conduct follow-up counseling sessions to review progress toward established goals.
- Administer, score and interpret aptitude, interest and work sample tests when appropriate.
- Function as agency liaison with vocational agencies such as ACCES-VR, NADAP, One-Stop Employment centers, etc.
- Maintain individual client case files.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, in-service workshops and seminars.
- Explore and become familiar with community resources for referral purposes.
- Prepare required forms and keep statistics on client contacts, referrals, job activities, etc.
- Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or educational equivalent required.
- Must be trained Workforce Development Specialist or obtain OES or WDS certification within the first year of hire date with experience in the vocational area and working with NYC Workforce resources.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
