Position: SENIOR FAMILY CONSULTANT
Location: Van Cortlandtville

The responsibilities of the position center around the planning and implementation of the direct treatment and overall management of clients on his/her caseload. In addition this position is used to support the Program and or Clinical Supervisor in supervision and training of Family Consultants. This position is a mentoring position for new Family Consultants and introductory to supervision for program assistance.

Working closely with the Program Manager, the Senior Family Consultant will be familiar with all foster care responsibilities, including foster parent trainings (pre-service, TFTC, ongoing trainings), participate in disruption meetings, program documentation compliance including uploading documentations into ENRG, mentoring and training new and existing Family Consultants, collaborating with community programs, and assist in case coverage. Mentor and train new Family Consultants.

Carry limited caseload to assist the office. Participate in the pre-admission screening of client referrals. Participate in the placement procedure for clients. Participate in the development and on-going maintenance of the Individualized Service Plan as per state requirements electronic or other. Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the Family Consultants under direct supervision to help in the resolution of problems, to enhance interpersonal and therapeutic skills, and to reinforce the work of, and adjustment to, the treatment family.

Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the treatment families to teach, motivate, supervise and reinforce their work with the clients. Act as advocates and laison for clients with other professional service providers in the community and within the Kids Peace organization as necessary. Prepare and complete all reports, statistical information and other file requirements as per agency policy and state mandated regulations.

Participate in the on-going development of and preparation in, training for treatment families. Assist in marketing the program to referring agencies. Participate in on-call. All other duties as assigned by management.

Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline required;
Masters degree preferred.

Experience With Acute Emotionally Challenged Children Or Adolescents Preferred.

Valid driver’s license and First Aid/CPR certifications required.

Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.

Must be 21 years of age.
