Job Summary

The case aid will support the EFFC Programs to support families reunifying with their children.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist in supporting CP Team.
  • Assist in planning and executing EFFC events.
  • Manages mail and correspondence including family planning letters, filing & calendars.
  • Manages and organizes case records for the unit – this includes creating new case records, closing old case records. Develop and maintain a filing system.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports. Documenting all services appropriately.
  • Serve as point person for organizing all the department’s large mailings.
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and staff training.
  • Arranging, transporting and supervising visitations between the children placed in out of home care, their parents, siblings and/or significant others to promote a continued relationship.
  • Coaching families in communication to foster positive family relations.
  • Providing education for parents on how to access emergency assistance, supports, and community resources.
  • Assisting families with goal setting, planning and other activities related to home management tasks.
  • Schedule and confirm visiting schedule with birth parents and foster parents in accordance with the visitation plan.
  • Provide supervision for visits with approval of program manager.
  • Work creatively to solve scheduling conflicts and facilitate visitation by providing transportation and childcare, suggesting alternate sites for family time to occur, and providing weekend supervision of visits (with supervisory approval).
  • Attend all internal and external trainings and meetings as required.
  • Provide written reports to case planners within 48 hours of visits so that the visits can be entered Connections in a timely manner.

Requirements Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Computer literate
  • Is strengths-focused, believes that change is possible and can inspire hope.
  • Computer Literacy including Microsoft Office.
  • Detailed oriented, with excellent verbal, written, time management and organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. HS Diploma required preferably with1 year of experience working with children and family in the field of child welfare.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license required.
  • Due to the nature of the work environment work hours will vary including evenings and be based on needs of program.
  • Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned within the scope of position
