Job Description

AHRC New York City is seeking compassionate and dedicated Per-Diem
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in our adult day programs.

• Location :
  Brooklyn Programs.
• Job Type :
  Per-Diem (with potential to become Full-Time with Full Benefits based on performance).
• Pay Rate : $20 per hour.
• Schedule :
  Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM (30 hours a week).

• Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.
• The oversight of all safety and health considerations
• Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies
• Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience personal of professional working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of Home and Community-Based Waiver services is a plus.
• Understanding of Person-Centered Planning.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Flexibility to meet the scheduling needs of individuals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, staff, and community agencies.
