Hotline Specialist, Part-time

• Staff AVP’s English/Spanish hotline
• Answer and respond to community members reaching out to the hotline
• Return voicemails and messages left by callers
• Provide resources, referrals, and intake screenings as needed
• Complete need-based screenings and relevant assessments
• Connect callers to appropriate services within AVP
• Refer callers to vetted community resources
• Work closely with AVP hotline volunteers
• Support the Manager of Hotline Programs
• Work within the Client Services Department

• Part-time, 16 hours per week
• Experience working with LGBTQ and HIV-affected people, communities, and survivors of violence
• Experience providing crisis intervention and support
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Comfortable and confident working in a multi-disciplinary, direct service / crisis management setting
• Capacity to set effective boundaries
• Ability to honor confidentiality
• Detail-oriented
• Commitment to ending violence within and against LGBTQ and HIV-affected people and communities
• English fluency required for the English/Spanish hotline; candidates fluent in Spanish in addition to English are strongly encouraged to apply
• Background pre-hire screening may be required

Demonstrates expertise in crisis intervention and support for LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities, with strong administrative and organizational skills to manage hotline operations effectively. Fluent in English and Spanish, capable of providing resources and referrals while maintaining confidentiality and setting effective boundaries.
