Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $67,500.00 Annually

Background: Forestdale is a NYC child welfare agency working to prevent child abuse/neglect through parenting, prevention, and foster care services, focusing on low-income and immigrant communities in NYC. Job Summary

The Certification Coach is responsible for working with current and prospective foster parents to assist them in navigating the certification and the recertification process to maintain their license. The certification coach works hand in hand with the prospective foster parents to ensure that all required documents meet the standard of OCFS and ACS regulations. Additionally, the Engagement Specialist works with current foster parents by providing consistent support, and ongoing communication and problem solving.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Completes home studies for kinship and non-kinship foster homes
• Guides applicants through completion of required paperwork and background checks
• Support families through the certification process by checking in frequently to respond to inquiries, questions or concerns
• Completes annual reauthorizations for all certified foster homes
• Conducts home visits to assess safety, readiness and compliance with licensing standards
• Facilitate quarterly foster parents training as needed
• Maintain accurate and up to date case records in accordance with state, local and agency policies.
• Ensure all case records are updated in both connections and binti
• Flexibility to work nights/weekends based on program needs
• Other duties as required by the supervisor
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related subjects from an accredited College or University
• Self-motivated, organized, team player and creativity
• Completion of NTDC with TRIPP principles TOT or willing to complete 4weeks of training once hired.
• Knowledge of trauma informed practice and cultural sensitivity
• Ability to attend all agency mandated trainings
• Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Ability to travel in and around the metropolitan New York City region
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group or large group settings
• Strong attention to detail; ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task
• Fluency in Spanish/French a plus

Salary Range:

Bachelors (Bilingual)- $30.22/hr - $32.15/hr

Masters - $30.22/hr - $33.24/hr
