9AM-5PM and 11 to 7 pm one to two evening a week. On call as needed

CHFS is a community- based, family-focused organization of color providing an array of services to children and families in North Brooklyn and Western Queens. For over 35 years, CHFS has worked with vulnerable populations that include children in foster care, seriously emotionally disturbed children, youth, and families at risk of abuse and neglect. Our strength-based model also supports progressive youth development programs, family support services and community school partnerships, The provision of accessible, high-quality family focused services to families of color is central to our holistic approach of strengthening families in a culturally competent manner.

The Associate Executive Director of Family Support/Prevention Services (AED), is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day oversight of seven family support/preventive service sites in Brooklyn and Queens. The AED is responsible for program planning, project management, budgeting, staffing and operations of CHFS’ Brooklyn and Queens Family Support and Family Treatment and Rehabilitation (FTR) programs, as well as the School-Based Early Support programs, as contracted by NYC Administration for Children Services (ACS).

The AED provides leadership, guidance, supervision and direction to program site directors, while integrating and advancing CHFS’ strategic mission, goals, and objectives. The AED is a member of the CHFS Senior Management team and is expected to work closely in a collaborative manner, with all other CHFS programs. The AED is community minded and establishes strong relationships with community partners who serve as referral sources for the preventive programs.

• Serve as the key representative of CHFS’ Family Support/Prevention Services at public and agency functions, events, forums, with governmental oversights entities, city agencies, and non-profit community and with government and private funders.
• Provide direct supervision of three Family Support Site Directors (SD), two FTR Site Directors and two School-Based Family Support Site Directors to support and maintain focus and consistency on CHFS’ level of professional standards, safety and risk, professional development and practices that are client- centered, culturally competent, and trauma-informed.
• Provide direct program support, as may be required, in the absence of Site Directors.
• Make site visits of all borough programs to foster and maintain strong ties/relationships with site staff and CHFS agency.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager in monitoring program space, work environment, and equipment needs.
• In partnership with SDs, ensure program staff are trained and implement Evidence Based/Informed practice models effectively with their client-families.
• Supervise the Solution Base Casework Coordinator to assure model fidelity and proficiency in model practice.
• Oversees, in collaboration with SDs, program compliance with ACS program standards and implements services initiatives for the program to meet all programmatic requirements, including but not limited to: timely intakes, client engagement, ongoing collaboration with COS units and Family Court Legal System (FCLS) as maybe required, collaboration with community providers to families, meeting family contact…
