DescriptionThis position is for a Licensed Social Worker (LMSW or LMHC or LCSW required) in Brooklyn, NY, working onsite on a contract basis. The role involves providing support to children (Age group 3 to 5 years) and families dealing with illness and disabilities, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The Social Worker will advocate for students and families, assist with accessing community resources, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
Responsibilities- Conduct intakes and maintain case notes, social histories, and related documentation.
- Provide emotional, behavioral, and therapeutic support to students.
- Assist families with accessing resources including housing, Medicaid, SNAP, respite, and other community services.
- Collaborate with families, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams on IEPs, annual reviews, and student transitions.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate case records.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and other school activities as needed.
- NYS LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC required.
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program required.
- 1+ year of social work experience required.
- Experience working with children age group - 3 to 5 years required
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Bilingual with Spanish skills are a plus.
- Clinical experience preferred
