We are hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test with deep Java backend experience to build and evolve automated test frameworks that support modern, distributed systems. This role is centered on backend services, API validation, pipeline automation, and deployment readiness. You will work closely with Software Engineering and Dev Ops partners to strengthen reliability, speed up releases, and improve overall production quality.
WhatYou Will Do
- Create and enhance Java automation frameworks that validate backend services and API behavior
- Develop automated API tests, integration coverage, and service level end to end scenarios
- Embed automation into CI and CD workflows, including test execution and quality checkpoints
- Support release readiness by partnering with engineering teams on deployment validation and go live confidence
- Test and troubleshoot cloud based systems running in AWS environments
- Manage test environments, datasets, tooling, and automation maintenance as systems evolve
- Investigate failures across builds, test runs, and deployment pipelines, then collaborate on long term fixes
- Promote automation first thinking and raise the quality bar across the engineering lifecycle
- Strong professional experience writing Java in backend focused environments
- Hands on experience validating APIs and backend services, including REST and JSON payloads
- Comfort with common Java build tools, including Maven
- Proven ability to work within CI and CD pipelines in a practical, delivery driven setting
- Experience with systems deployed on AWS
- Background in test automation for backend platforms, services, or distributed applications
- Experience working within Agile teams and Dev Ops aligned delivery models
- Python experience for tooling, scripting, or automation support
- Familiarity with Spring Boot based services
- Experience with Git Lab CI or similar CI platforms
- Exposure to Kafka or event driven architectures
- Experience testing microservices and distributed systems at scale
