We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join our New York team. This role has a salary range of $150,000 – $240,000 and focuses on delivering key business initiatives, improving architecture, and designing large‑scale, data‑intensive applications in a fast‑paced, cloud‑native environment.

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of key business initiatives from product discovery, to system design, to feature launch
• Learn and apply distributed system optimization patterns
• Participate in a culture of code and architecture review
• Design and deliver large‑scale data‑intensive applications using cutting‑edge techniques, including:
  • Real‑time transaction decisioning
  • Stream‑processing
  • Machine learning
• Evolve company standards for engineering excellence by improving architecture, testing, and monitoring practices
• Help Current’s users access new decentralized financial systems for wealth creation

• Significant professional backend development experience
• Production experience with a JVM language
• Experience with cloud‑hosted services (AWS or GCP)
