As Lead Android Engineer, you will ensure our Android application reflects Hodinkee’s craftsmanship, clarity, and performance standards while executing the product vision provided by leadership.

We are seeking a Lead Android Engineer to guide the technical execution of the Hodinkee Android app. This role balances hands-on engineering with architectural decision-making, ensuring scalable systems and high-quality user experiences.

• Lead the technical direction of the Android application to execute the defined product and feature roadmap.
• Architect systems using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android development principles.
• Maintain scalable modular architectures including MVVM/MVI and Clean Architecture patterns.
• Optimize app performance, startup time, memory usage, and rendering efficiency.
• Integrate cleanly with REST/Graph
  
  QL services and backend systems.
• Build and maintain automated unit, integration, and UI test suites.
• Mentor Android engineers and help establish excellent engineering culture.
• Collaborate with iOS, Backend, Product, Design, and QA teams for cohesive execution.

• 7+ years of Android development experience.
• Expert proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack libraries including Compose.
• Strong understanding of Coroutines, Flow, dependency injection (Hilt/Dagger), and architectural best practices.
• Experience maintaining scalable, modularized Android applications.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical initiatives.

• Experience with analytics instrumentation, feature flags, and A/B testing.
• Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM).
• Experience with mobile security best practices including encryption.

Salary $150,000-$170,000 per year
