Python​/Pyspark​/AWS Engineer – Intermediate

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Python/AWS Engineer
. This team builds high-impact internal tools, data pipelines, and platforms that support systems across the enterprise. The role architects, builds, and optimizes cloud-native applications, data pipelines, and backend services while collaborating closely with UI teams and cross‑functional partners.

• Design and develop Python‑ and AWS‑based applications with an emphasis on scalability and reliability.
• Build and maintain data pipelines leveraging AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, ECS, and data lake technologies.
• Develop and support API endpoints consumed by internal UI teams.
• Contribute to system design, code reviews, and operational support of production systems.
• Create and maintain Java microservices and Spark‑based data processing applications (nice to have).
• Integrate emerging technologies, including AI/ML capabilities where relevant.
• Work within an Agile team and contribute to the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Strong experience with Python and building Python‑based backend services.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services including ECS, Glue, Lambda, S3, and data lake architectures.
• Experience creating data pipelines and backend APIs.
• Experience developing in large, enterprise‑scale environments.
• Solid understanding of databases (Snowflake, Oracle, or Postgre
  
  SQL).
• Strong grounding in application development, testing, and system stability.

• Experience with PySpark or Spark frameworks.
• Familiarity with React.js for UI integration.
• Exposure to AI/ML integration within applications.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York City, NY.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 – $78.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:
