Qwoted is transforming how the media and the communications world connect. Every day, thousands of journalists and PR professionals rely on Qwoted to surface the right expert, at the right moment, with the right insight. We’re scaling fast — enriching millions of articles, building powerful vector-based matching engines, and delivering AI-driven tools that help both media and communicators do their jobs better.
As we expand our engineering team, we’re looking for a senior technical leader who wants to sit at the heart of this transformation.
We are looking for a frontend specialist to lead the transformation of our product into a modern, JavaScript-heavy, cross-platform experience. We’ve already built a solid foundation of APIs (Postgres + Rails + Supabase), and our backend team is in place. Now we need someone to own and architect the frontend layer: rewrite our web application, create our first cross-platform mobile app, and deliver polished, consumer-ready interfaces.
This is not a backend or full-stack role. If your passion is databases or Rails, this isn’t for you. We want a frontend-first developer who thrives in React, loves building beautiful interfaces, and knows how to bring web technologies to mobile through Capacitor.
Our inspiration is the Linked In + Linked In Mobile App experience — but laser-focused on the media industry. This is your chance to help define the user-facing side of an enterprise social network from the ground up. We need someone with passion and a vision for the future of Qwoted.
What You’ll Do- Lead and mentor a team of front-end and full-stack engineers; set coding standards, conduct reviews, and cultivate a high-performance culture.
- Architect and build Qwoted’s first mobile app (iOS & Android) using Capacitor.
- Rewrite and modernize our frontend web application, aligning it with the same technologies and UX patterns used in mobile.
- Work closely with our UX designers to deliver interfaces that are responsive, accessible, and delightful.
- Collaborate with backend engineers by consuming APIs, not building them.
- Push UX forward — animations, accessibility, responsiveness, and performance tuning.
- React 18.3.1 with 150+ components.
- ESBuild for bundling.
- Supabase + Postgres/Rails APIs.
- Bootstrap 5 + React Bootstrap.
- Algolia for search.
- One Signal for push notifications.
- Jest + React Testing Library for testing.
- Deep React expertise (5+ years).
- Cross-platform mobile development experience, preferably with Capacitor.
- Strong grasp of modern JavaScript/Type Script.
- Ability to turn designs into elegant, performant, accessible experiences.
- Experience working with UX designers to deliver consumer-quality interfaces.
- Independent, self-directed problem solver who can take high-level requirements and run with them.
- Proven history of leading engineering teams, mentoring developers, and driving execution.
- The ability to produce impeccable code that requires very little review by our CTO.
- Experience building beautiful and performant apps that are available from the app store.
- Experience with PWAs, push notifications, or real-time interfaces.
- Familiarity with Algolia, Storybook, or modern CSS patterns.
- You’ll be the first dedicated frontend/mobile specialist at Qwoted.
- You’ll set the tone for how we build client-side software going forward.
- You’ll focus on frontend only — with less need to context switch into backend concerns.
- You’ll help define our mobile-first strategy from scratch.
- Launching the Qwoted mobile app within 6 months.
- Launching Version 2 of our frontend web application.
- Establishing a reusable component system that works across both web and mobile.
- Driving measurable adoption through improved UX and performance.
- Your resume or CV so we can learn about your background.
- A portfolio of React/web/mobile apps you’ve built (Git Hub, demos, or App Store/Play Store…
