Senior/Staff Backend Engineer - NYC
Kinvr Digital has partnered with a well-funded travel tech startup ($60M Series B/C) to hire a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer for their core platform infrastructure. This fast-growing company (180+ employees) is building the technology backbone for thousands of travel advisors and reimagining how the industry operates.
The RoleYou'll build the systems that power the entire advisor platform - from onboarding and booking systems to content management and external integrations. Working closely with product and design teams, you'll own significant backend features, architect scalable distributed systems, and ship products that directly impact how travel entrepreneurs run their businesses. This role reports directly to the VP of Engineering.
What You'll DoPartner with cross-functional teams to define roadmap priorities, build and scale backend systems handling complex travel workflows, focus on performance, clean architecture and code principles, collaborate with engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions, and own epics from design through implementation and delivery.
What We're Looking For- 5+ years backend development experience with 3+ years in Python (Django/Flask or alternatives)
- Computer Science degree or equivalent
- Strong API and distributed systems design skills with experience in relational database ORMs
- AWS and Kubernetes experience a plus
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Compensation: $155K-$225K base + equity (level-dependent)

Tribeca office 3 days/week (Mon/Tue/Thu in-office, Wed/Fri flexible) - Benefits include unlimited PTO, fully covered health insurance option, 401k match, and equity
