We’re hiring a Senior Edge & Backend Engineer to help build and launch a new AI-powered connectivity planning platform used to design and simulate public and private WiFi and cellular networks. The product combines hardware, telemetry, and cloud software to create digital-twin–driven network architectures for providers and enterprises.
This is a hands-on, across‑the‑stack role for an experienced engineer who enjoys working close to devices while also building robust backend services and data pipelines. You’ll play a key role in shaping a production‑grade telemetry platform from the ground up.
What You’ll Do- Architect and implement a resilient, self‑healing edge agent on Linux/Open Wrt‑based hardware
- Build production‑grade device software for telemetry collection and secure data transmission
- Own device‑to‑cloud data schemas and telemetry pipelines
- Develop and operate Python backend services and data ingestion systems in AWS
- Work across the stack — from edge agent and network interfaces to backend services and data storage
- Integrate with cellular and Wi‑Fi subsystems and networking interfaces
- Partner with generalist engineers and provide deep expertise in telemetry and edge‑based architectures
- Anticipate scalability, reliability, and data modeling challenges early
- Contribute broadly with a startup mindset — from deep backend services to occasional UI‑facing work
- 5–10 years of backend or systems software engineering experience
- Strong Python experience in production systems
- Experience developing software on Linux‑based edge devices, IoT gateways, or routers
- Hands‑on experience with Open Wrt or similar embedded Linux distributions
- Experience building backend services on AWS
- Solid experience with Postgres and/or Redis
- Experience working with telemetry data and device‑to‑cloud architectures
- Familiarity with cellular modem interfaces (QMI/MBIM) and Wi‑Fi subsystems (nl80211)
- Comfortable working across edge, networking, and cloud layers
- High ownership, pragmatic decision‑making, and product focus
