About the RoleAs a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at iAltA, you will take ownership of product-defining features across our Python API and Typescript/Deno/Preact frontend. You’ll work closely with product, architecture, and domain experts to:
- Understand requirements in depth and help refine them
- Propose and evaluate implementation strategies based on system constraints and existing architecture
- Break down product user stories into clear engineering tasks, estimate them, and deliver high-quality implementations
- Lead development initiatives either independently or with the support of junior developers
- Contribute to the evolution of our architecture and engineering practices as we scale
- Adopt and refine rapidly changing AI-assisted software development practices
You will be joining a small, highly capable team building the foundational systems for a high-integrity, high-availability market network. The role involves deep hands-on engineering as well as leadership and mentorship.
Responsibilities- Lead the design and implementation of major features across the backend, frontend, and data pipelines
- Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to clarify functionality and requirements
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code using Python, Typescript, and modern frameworks
- Participate in system design discussions and contribute to the evolution of IAltA’s architecture
- Support and mentor junior developers; perform thoughtful, constructive code reviews
- Integrate with event-driven and message-based systems where required
- Contribute to continuous integration, deployment, observability, and overall platform quality
- Engage proactively in an AI-assisted development workflow
- Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, SQL Alchemy, or similar)
- Typescript (Preact/React/JSX or comparable frameworks)
- Postgres (SQL familiarity required)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals
- Kubernetes (EKS or equivalent)
- Kafka or other event-streaming platforms
- AWS SQS or similar messaging systems
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, etc.)
- Familiarity with DDD, CQRS, or event-driven architecture concepts
- Comfortable and productive with AI-assisted software development
- Pragmatic architectural mindset; able to balance elegance with delivery
- Strong commitment to code quality, observability, and test automation
- Ownership mentality: sees problems through to resolution
- Willingness and ability to mentor junior developers
- Interest in helping refine both product and engineering processes as we scale
- Work at the frontier of an underserved market ripe for modernization
