Manager-Python Engineer

Job Description

As a Manager Technology, you will lead and manage Python-based engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable, and efficient solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and contribute to the strategic direction of technology initiatives.

• Advanced Python (10+ years): Deep expertise in the CPython runtime, memory management, and high-performance libraries like Polars, Dask, or Num Py for processing multi-gigabyte flat files.
• Distributed Systems & Messaging: Mastery of Apache Kafka (partitioning strategies, consumer group rebalancing, and exactly-once semantics) and legacy IBM MQ (Queue Managers, Channels, and XA Transactions).
• Data Integrity & Normalization: Experience with financial data types and the pitfalls of floating-point arithmetic. Must be proficient in building automated reconciliation tools using Great Expectations or custom set-based validation logic.
• On-Premise Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/Open Shift on bare metal or private VMs. Understanding of Linux kernel tuning for I/O-intensive batch processing.
• GenAI Ops: Practical experience hosting and querying private LLMs (e.g., Mistral, Llama
  3) using local inference engines like vLLM or Ollama for code-translation tasks.
• Database Mastery: Expert-level SQL and experience with high-performance on-prem databases (e.g., Postgre

  DB) used as state stores for batch processing.

Annual Base pay: USD 128,000 - USD 193,000
